Where to Stay: Visiting Jones Beach Theater

6:37 PM

After snagging tickets for two to see Kevin Hart on tour this Friday I got the bright idea to make a weekend of it and stay out by Jones Beach.  However, I was surprised to find there aren't as many hotels close to the theater as I would've thought!  With some digging, I did come across a few gems perfect for any budget.

Luxe: Allegria Hotel

Allegra Hotel Restaurant

Allegra Hotel Jones Beach Pool

Best rate: Oceanfront rooms starting at $299
Distance from Jones Beach Theater: 11 mi (23 min drive)
Details: Long Island's only luxury oceanfront hotel and for good reason, it would be hard to top.         This place brings South Beach style to NYC's backyard and doesn't skimp on a single detail.               Loving  the sophisticated glam meets modern aesthetic, the option to dine al fresco on the                   boardwalk and the Insta-worthy views.
Verdict: Too good for just a one night stop.  Currently planning my week long staycation.

Moderate: The Freeport Inn and Marina

The Freeporrt Inn and Marina NY Patio

Freeport Inn and Marina NY Suite

Best rate: King sized rooms with marina views from $210
Distance from Jones Beach Theater: 8 mi (15 min drive)
Details: This quaint "boatel" has slips of every size so you can dock your boat during your stay.         The rooms have a traditional, almost cottage feel with some boasting two person jacuzzis and rain       bath showers.
Verdict: The comfy hotel is perfect for spending the night after a show at the amphitheater.                 Imagine sipping cocktails on the patio with this amazing view while reliving the shows best                 moments.

Budget: Jones Beach Hotel

Jones Beach Hotel Bar Area

Jones Beach Hotel Suite
    Best Rate: $85 a night
Distance from Jones Beach Theater: 5.6 mi (10 min drive)
Details: The closest you can get to the theater without bumming it on the beach, the Jones Beach         Hotel is also the least expensive.  Coolest feature?  The trail behind the hotel that will take you           straight to the beach.
Verdict: So it looks like your grandma's house if she was also a part-time motelier on the side but       it's cheap!  If you must stay nearby and you're on a budget, this is the only option under $100 a           night.
